2018 Ram 1500 Review

The 2018 Ram 1500 is little bit country and a little bit rock and roll. It has such wide appeal that it has truly become a truck for everyone. Whether you live in the city or the countryside, wear slacks or spurs, or prefer acoustic guitars over electric guitars, the Ram 1500 is packed with features that are universally pleasing to all styles and personalities.

Let’s walk through the latest features and discuss why the 2018 Ram 1500 is the perfect choice for your next truck purchase.

Performance

The 2018 Ram 1500 offers three engine choices – all of which are capable of rattling your insides. Notably, the HEMI V-8 option carries an impressive 395 horses under its hood. Although we don’t suggest it, the thundering hooves of this engine are powerful enough to wake your neighbors from about a mile away. Additionally, with 410 pounds/foot of torque, the 2018 Ram 1500 delivers ample amounts of zoom, boom, and vroom.

Interior Comfort

The 2018 Ram 1500 remains mostly unchanged regarding its interior and we expect a series of upgrades with the 2019 model. However, while we wait for those major updates to roll out, there is still much to boast about with the current model. Notably, Ram has released an optional “Limited Tungsten Edition” edition of the interior for the 1500, which adds premium materials, superior leather, and wood accents that are both classy and masculine. Check back next year for big changes with the interior.

Exterior Styling

This is one attractive truck. The Ram 1500 has always been masculine, sturdy, and athletic without begging for attention. That trend continues with the 2018 edition. Furthermore, those who choose to upgrade to the new Limited Tungsten Edition will enjoy a sportier hood and some other unique exterior touches. However, regardless of the trim you choose, the Ram 1500 has always been equipped with high-strength steel and aluminum. It still is. And its looks are adaptable enough to easily suit drivers of all styles and tastes.

Cargo, Towing, & Storage

Because the 2018 Ram 1500 is mostly unchanged from the previous edition, there are very changes to report upon regarding its utility. The max towing capacity remains near 10,620 pounds with a payload of 1,690 pounds – more than enough for 99% of truck drivers on the market. Similarly, with the rear seats folded, the Ram 1500 is capable of fitting 18 carry-on suitcases. This Ram 1500 is more than adequate in all categories although we expect big things with the upcoming redesign for the 2019 model.

Conclusion

The Ram 1500 is a stellar truck with a stellar reputation and the 2018 edition is perfectly adequate in every category. While we’re clearly very excited about the changes coming in 2019, the 2018 model will likely be priced lower than the 2019 model, so we encourage you to take advantage of the lower prices while you still can.
